About Young Acupuncture.

Welcome to Young Acupuncture, where Valerie Young's expertise covers a comprehensive range of acupuncture treatments.

As an experienced acupuncturist my aim is to diagnose and treat each client as an individual. I look at each client’s case and I analyse the condition, looking at the cause and nature of the condition, and the situation in which the illness/injury occurred. My analysis comes from a medical and emotional/spiritual perspective, as both physical and emotional well being are intrinsically linked. This is no longer an alternative view of health, western medicine has become aware of how essential emotional well being is to physical health. My approach is true to the definition of holistic, I diagnose clients from a scientific and spiritual perspective - body and soul . As I have a comprehensive training and understanding of the medical model as well as being a qualified acupuncturist, I have the tools to diagnose and treat clients effectively and truly holistically.

Acupuncture has been recognised as an effective treatment to support IVF and to assist with fertility. Most IVF clinics will encourage their clients to seek a qualified acupuncturist to support them through the IVF process. I have successfully treated many IVF clients who have attended my clinic as well as clients experiencing unexplained infertility and it is always a true pleasure to see the course of treatment result In the birth of a beautiful baby.

I can honestly say I have a wonderful job and that I have found my vocation.
I look forward to meeting you, VAL x

FERTILITY, PRE AND POST NATAL

Acupuncture offers a range of remarkable benefits when it comes to fertility treatment. This ancient practice has been found to enhance fertility in several ways. Firstly, it increases blood flow to the uterus, effectively thickening the uterine lining, which is crucial for successful implantation. Moreover, acupuncture has been shown to improve egg quality, a significant factor in fertility and reduces stress hormones responsible for infertility.

BACK PAIN

A study conducted at Sheffield University looked at the long-term symptom reduction benefits of acupuncture for persistent low back pain. An average of 8 acupuncture treatments were given to 159 people, while 80 people received usual care instead. It was found that after one year people receiving acupuncture had reduced pain and reported a significant reduction in concerns about their pain compared to the group receiving usual care.

ARTHRITIS

Arthritis literally means joint inflammation and refers to a group of rheumatic diseases that can cause pain, stiffness and swelling in the joint. The two most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Acupuncture patients showed a 40% decrease in arthritic pain due to the naturally occurring hormones (endorphins and adrenalcorticotropin) which are effectively stimulated by acupuncture.

WELLBEING

The Western medical explanation for the success of acupuncture in the treatment of depression is that the acupuncture points stimulate the central nervous system (CNS),. release chemicals into the muscles, brain and spinal cord, thus promoting the body's own natural healing abilities. The NIH says, "Studies have shown that acupuncture may alter brain chemistry by changing the release of neurotransmitters and neurohormones in a good way."
